This was my birthday present to my lovely boyfriend. Basically I wanted to paint him his 59' Ford Custom 300 as a pin-up, and here she is.
She is sitting in a puddle because the Tank leaks a lot of oil in the engine bay and there are flames because the Tank likes to be spiteful and catch fire when it's been cruised in too much (& neglected a bit). Like any old car the tank drinks a LOT of petrol hence the bowser. Her skin colour roughly portrays the fawn paint job and her green hair and corset correspond to the upholstry. The stars on her chest represent the floating star grille. Much to my dissapointment however, his particular '59 doesn't have flying 'V's like other Custom 300's do. I would have LOVED to paint some flying 'V's on her leg.
I still need to add the ford badge necklace, star decal from the spats on her ankles and touch up a bare spot but apart from that it's done. I'll update with a new (and better) photo when I've done so.
Aw thanks, it's nice of you to think that, especially when it's a rather rotten photo of it. I can't take photos front on because of the glare the oils give off But I'm putting it in the art show at Greazefest so you can see it better there Hooray, I'm excited because I finally have something half decent to showcase.
I would LOVE to do more but I need to buy an overhead projector first. I am utterly hopeless at translating my concept drawings to canvas otherwise. I had to hire an OHP to fo this one and that usally costs $33 for 1 day. Luckily for me the guy was nice and let me keep it for 4 days on that price).
No prob darl. Though I have a serious aversion to overhead projectors! Despite my disability I've managed to invent a much cheaper alternative that involves only PowerPoint, MS Paint & a black & white printer. I may be old, but I is not crazay. Will you be attending Greazefest along with your art? If you are and we cross paths, pop a Valium & I'll tell you all about it!

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.

As of September 2009 =ImaginaryRosse joined the project and will be helping us out with the weekly choices. While things have changed over time, the essence of the newsletter is still the same.

Autographs are the best but about 2-3 times more expensive than an OHP
